LOVEADIDAS - The Beginning
For those of you that love a bit of Adidas and I'm talking really cool sportswear and why this brand continues to deliver beyond expectations for me personally time and time again.

Below is a selection of curated images and some exerts shared from a moment in time, whether it was at school, out with my mates or present day, 2024.

My first pair of Adidas Speedy Spikes, Blue with Silver stripes to run faster!

These were so cool as I was the first person to have these for sports day! Thanks MUM x
MY FIRST SPIKES - I was attending a district athletics day (& my mum was coming to watch! joy and more joy I was so excited and couldn’t wait to spot her in the stand) and I was up for the 100M, 200M, relay team and 800M the only drawback is that I was against the two tallest & fastest girls in my class, Rachel Coombes & Emma Meakin, not that I was short I was average height at the time.  My nerves were high but I remember thinking I have my first pair of spikes to run in and I knew they had to make me run faster, thank you Adidas I came 1st in 3 races not bad given the circumstances of my fellow competitors.
JUNIOR SCHOOL DAYS - I hadn’t realised until now that my love for Adidas has been quite a long love affair.  It all began at Junior School and I think I was 8 years old, my sports teacher Mr Furness was a man that I admired from day one, why because he was approachable, grown up, he had a beard, a quiet authority and a sense of purpose.  His role was to make those of us that loved sport really good at it.  He was in fact the first person who taught me how to run properly and it worked, he told me that the power was not only in your legs but also how you propel your arms forward and back.  So I practiced and practiced and soon enough I made it to the athletics team and captain of our sports activities, simply put though I was a sprinter and I loved it.

My first pair of Gazelle's, me 2nd from left, aged 13?

SENIOR SCHOOL - I was known as ‘the sprinter’ and this was probably my most memorable victory and I did this without trainers (sorry Adidas) as it was a scorching hot day and us being kids thought we were hip to run like Zola Budd, had to seek teacher permission on this occasion and they were all for it - if anyone remembers this far back?   I ran like the wind, it was the last day of school, sports days normally featured on this day, my school mates cheered me all the way, what a lovely feeling as I reached the last 10M to the finish line, I'll never forget it.
